Please join the ACRL Academic Library Services to International Students Interest Group at ALA Annual in Washington D.C. for a discussion on training for library public services staff who work with international students. With the increasing number of international students on American college campuses, library staff and faculty must be prepared to work with a culturally and linguistically diverse student population. This presentation will focus on effective ways of communicating across cultures, and will include recommended resources for training staff in working with a diverse group of patrons. Comments and stories from participants about their own cross-cultural experiences are encouraged.
Everyone welcome! Join us Sunday June 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the Capitol Hilton, Congressional Room.
Please contact Dawn at dua4@psu.edu with any questions.
