Please join APALA on February 6, 2023 from 2:00pm-3:00pm ET for the presentation, "
Incorporating the Experiences of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in LIS Education: A New Resource
."
The presentation will focus on: "The experiences of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders are largely absent in LIS literature and syllabi. To encourage LIS faculty to incorporate AA+NH/PI experiences into their courses, our team has created an annotated bibliography that is sorted by major topics in LIS education. All of our top recommendations include a blurb on why the article or chapter is pedagogically useful and two discussion questions. We also hope the bibliography will point out lacunae in the literature that needs to be addressed."
The research team includes: Britney Bibeault, Blanca Garcia-Barron, Eric Hung, Mea Lee, Sabine Lipten and Renu Sagreiya.
