How to help international students looking for jobs after school

    Hello,

I am an associate librarian at a small, private university with very little services and support for international students. I had a student ask me for help with her CV, and found that she is also looking to get work before their student visa expires in 2025.

I am slightly out of my element here, as I haven't helped many international students before, and I don't know very much about visas or working toward citizenship in the United States. I am looking for any resources that I can read to learn more about visas, international student resources, etc. in this group!

This student has some great strengths -- she is nearly done with a master's degree in healthcare administration, and has previously worked outside of the country as a nurse (less than 1 year experience). She is bilingual as well.

I have found some compelling options for this student regarding potential work, but want to make sure I'm guiding her in a good direction.

    Thank you!
