    Join the RUSA Local History Section to kick-off our series on how to make your local history collections more diverse and how to promote more widespread use of materials within your larger community.  Mary K. Mannix, Maryland Room Manager, C. Burr Artz Public Library, Frederick County Public Libraries will be leading our discussion.

    Description: Many Local History Collections are centered on wealthy white males from our communities, and that this is a situation which needs to be addressed. Please join the RUSA History Section, Local History Committee for the kick-off event to our series on how to find the diverse and inclusive items already in your collections and promote their availability and use, and how to focus on the addition of more diverse items to your local history collections through outreach to your larger local community. This free discussion group event by the Local History Committee of the RUSA History Section may be of interest to those of you working in archives and/or special collections at a variety of types of institutions, and those with an interest in promoting diversity and inclusion within our collections and our programming and outreach.
