How Inclusive and Diverse is your Local History Collection?
Wednesday, April 28, 2021 – 2:00 pm Eastern
Virtual discussion group on Zoom – free
Description: Many Local History Collections are centered on wealthy white males from our communities, and that this is a situation which needs to be addressed. Please join the RUSA History Section, Local History Committee for the kick-off event to our series on how to find the diverse and inclusive items already in your collections and promote their availability and use, and how to focus on the addition of more diverse items to your local history collections through outreach to your larger local community. This free discussion group event by the Local History Committee of the RUSA History Section may be of interest to those of you working in archives and/or special collections at a variety of types of institutions, and those with an interest in promoting diversity and inclusion within our collections and our programming and outreach.
