    **Apologies for cross-posting**
The University of Minnesota Libraries is thrilled to announce that the Handbook for European Studies Librarians is now available to read online as an e-book or to download as a PDF.

This book will be a useful companion for academic librarians and library and information staff (LIS) professionals who work on collection development projects or answer reference questions from scholars researching topics about European history, politics, languages as well as area studies. Edited by the University of Minnesota's Brian Vetruba and Heidi Madden from Duke University with contributions from experts at more than 20 other institutions, this new open-access book includes up-to-date lists of core materials and country-specific vendors as well as strategies and materials for diversifying collections to support research. Authoritative guidance on finding and interpreting information from specialized sources - such as European statistical agencies, legal bodies, and archives - is also included.

Issued with a CC-BY-NC license, the Handbook may also serve as a useful starting point for LIS instructors who need course materials for classes on academic librarianship, collection development, or area studies librarianship.

    Check it out at z.umn.edu/HESL!

    Thanks,

    Brian
