Please see the following message on behalf of ACRL President Jon Cawthorne.

    Dear ACRL Interest Group Leaders,

    Please join us at the ACRL Leadership Council & Membership Meeting to be held online Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 am-12:30 p.m. Pacific | noon-1:30 p.m. Mountain | 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Central | 2:00-3:30 p.m. Eastern.

Please register if you would like to participate! We want to accommodate as many members as possible. Because this room is limited to 300 participants, we ask that you only register if you plan to attend. A recording with the updates portion will be sent to all invitees following the meeting.

Your leadership role in the association is essential to the work of our member-engaged organization. Your work in committees, sections, representatives and liaisons assemblies, interest groups, chapters, and discussion groups contributes to making ACRL the higher education association for over 9,000 academic libraries and library workers. ACRL is responsive to the current and future needs of our members because of your leadership. Your input on strategic issues facing the association is needed now more than ever. Please join us at the Leadership Council and Membership Meeting and contribute to the success of ACRL in advancing the Plan for Excellence.

Typically, Leadership Council convenes twice a year during the ALA Midwinter and Annual Conference meetings. The meetings provide a forum for ACRL member leaders to come together to chart ACRL's course.

During this year's Leadership Council & Membership Meeting in May, we will focus on two primary topics: 1.) ALA Pivot Strategy and the impact on Divisions by ALA Executive Director Tracie Hall and 2.) Advancing ACRL's Core Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) by ACRL EDI Committee Chair Mary Beth Lock and ACRL Budget and Finance Committee Chair Carolyn Allen. After each brief presentation, we'll break participants up into small groups for conversation and ask participants to share brief written reactions back to the Board.

Your participation will be instrumental in continuing to guide the work of the association towards the needs and values of all our members. This meeting is open to all ACRL members, so please do feel free to share details with members of the groups you lead.

I look forward to seeing you at the Leadership Council & Membership Meeting and working together with you on behalf of ACRL. Questions? Feel free to contact me or ACRL Interim Executive Director Kara Malenfant at kmalenfant@ala.org.
