Hello!
We invite you to participate in a research study about the experiences of temporary librarians and archivists in higher education. This project follows other studies on the benefits and disadvantages of precarious temporary library employment, but aims to revitalize the conversation around this topic.
For the purposes of this project, a "temporary librarian or archivist" is a library professional who: holds full-time status in an academic library; has received an MLIS or equivalent library/archival professional degree; often must meet the same qualifications and responsibilities as their more permanent counterparts; and has a temporary contract of less than three years.
This anonymous survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will close on November 14, 2023. We encourage you to share this survey with friends, colleagues, and others who may have interest in participating in this research.
If you have questions about this research at any time, please contact the Principal Investigators, Jenny Bruxvoort (bruxvoort@hope.edu) and Sarah Lundy (lundys@hope.edu).
