Do public services have an image problem? ACRL Heads of Public Services Online Roundtable Discussion

  • 1.  Do public services have an image problem? ACRL Heads of Public Services Online Roundtable Discussion

    Posted May 15, 2025 07:43 AM

Join the co-conveners of Heads of Public Services Discussion Group for our annual virtual discussion! Building on conversations in our ALA Connect space, we facilitated a roundtable discussion at ACRL 2025 Conference titled "Do Public Services Have an Image Problem? Defining and Promoting Our Value." The 45-minute session drew about 20 participants and sparked a meaningful conversation. Attendees voiced shared frustrations, but they also offered fresh ideas for measuring and communicating the value of public services in academic libraries.

We would like to continue the discussion in this online meeting and share insights from the roundtable to spark further conversation and strengthen networking among public services librarians and staff.

Please join us! This meeting is open to anyone who identifies as working in a public service area of an academic library.
