As librarians, we strive to create spaces that are welcoming for all, but how well are we doing, and do we really understand the depth of what it means to Design for Diversity? Our ALA conference panel session, sponsored by Core's Buildings for College and University Libraries Committee (BCUL), will explore design approaches for the inclusion of the broadest range of occupants, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. Through the lenses of neurodiversity and process-driven approaches, this session will engage attendees in a conversation to push the boundaries of academic library space design. We already have two architects on the panel and are now seeking 1-2 library employees (librarians or other library employees) who can discuss their lived experience related to the topic, or their experiences managing spaces related to the topic.
· Format: 60-minute panel, 3-4 presenters, with each presenter receiving 15 minutes to address the theme. Combined 15-minute Q&A, moderated by a Core BCUL committee member.
· Fill out the submission form: https://montana.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3BOa3t6kIUJXHIa
