It has been quite awhile since I've shared anything here. I've been in one of the busiest times of year for me: the end of the fiscal year. Despite that, I could have done a better job checking in here. So, that is what I am doing now with a couple of possible discussion prompts.
First, I am curious about reactions to the revised compliance date made by the U. S. Department of Justice for institutions to ensure web content and apps meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria. I'm heard mixed reactions, both relief at having more time and anger because it negatively impacts people with disabilities. I'm curious if this has changed how work is being done at anyone's institution or library.
The second item is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, which was May 21. I had intended to post back in May to ask if anyone had any events to share. I personally did not have any time to attend any events.
The GAAD website lists activities and events that took place this May 21, some of which are now available on demand. One that might be of particular interest to folks here is called Ask Me Anything: How We're Building a Website That Works for Everyone, by ORCHID. I've added it to my watchlist for the future.
Best,
Karen
