    Hello Access Services Professionals!

The ACRL Access Services Interest Group (ASIG) is searching for volunteers to serve as the incoming conveners starting June 2026. We're looking to appoint two people to work together as co-conveners for a three-year appointment (2026-2029). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) organizing virtual forums for the ASIG community, maintaining the Framework for Access Services Librarianship, and attending ALA Annual during your convenor year for an in-person meeting.

ASIG meets bi-weekly in a virtual setting and you will be working with 4 other co-convenors throughout your three-year appointment. Candidates should have a good understanding of the day-to-day work of Access Services in academic libraries and be capable of bringing their perspective on that work to bear on the challenges and opportunities, as well as foundational documents and policies in this area. Though experience in event planning (both in-person and virtual) is preferred, it is not a requirement of becoming a co-convenor. Please know that if you are selected, planning events for the Access Services community will be a requirement throughout the three years of service

We encourage new library professionals, professionals without an MLIS, and those who may not always be available to travel to express interest. You must be a member of ALA and ACRL in order to volunteer for this position. Please use this form to express your interest and tell us a little about why you are interested. Submissions are due by Friday, April 10th, 2026 and selected candidates will be notified mid-April.
