Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    Dr. Hannah Turner and I are happy to open submissions for a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Information and Library Science on Knowledge Organization and Nations. You can find a full description of the issue and instructions on submission in our call for papers.

    We welcome submissions from students, practitioners, and researchers of all stages working on:

    • Histories of the development of national or anti-colonial knowledge organization systems

    • Close readings of knowledge organization systems against state politics

    • Comparative studies of knowledge organization across borders

    • Land-based classification practices, including border control and establishing claims to land.

    Submissions

    We welcome full length research articles (5,000-8000 words) and book reviews (1,000- 2,000 words) in line with CJILS accepted submissions.  Manuscripts can be submitted through the submissions portal (OJS) of the Canadian Journal of Information and Library Science (CJILS).
