Hello everyone,
Please be aware that the Association for Information Science & Technology's Special Interest Group on Arts & Humanities is putting together their first newsletter for 2021! Here is the call, for those looking for scholarship opportunities or interesting networking between professional organizations:
The pandemic has impacted everything we do from work to lifestyle to art. Art, libraries and music institutions have been working at a different pace to incorporate new tech and tools to create unique and intimate experiences for experiencing or engaging patrons or fans with media. Post Malone created an intimate concert experience from his home, and many museums and galleries are embracing Virtual Reality for tours. We are interested in hearing your thoughts or experiences with how COVID-19 has impacted art, libraries and music. Have you started taking music lessons online, or have you been working on digital curation archives that have since gone live? Or getting online reference services from your library.
What are your thoughts about the future of embedding technology into art, libraries and music? Will museums and artists continue to create, and host extended audience experiences post-pandemic? Will physical books begin vanishing?
We want to know! Send your stories to tariqnajmi@cuilahore.edu.pk for the SIG-AH newsletter. Deadline is 8th January 2020.
