    Dear colleagues,

I would like to share the recording to Anti-Racism Work and Women in Librarianship, a program the ALA's Committee on the Status of Women in Librarianship, which I Chair, presented during the ALA Midwinter Meeting this past January. I am very happy to share that the event is now available free! on the Libraries Respond page http://www.ala.org/advocacy/diversity/librariesrespond/black-lives-matter

Here is the direct link to the recording: https://youtu.be/gMBDqGrN8H4

    Information about the event:

Title: Anti-Racism Work and Women in Librarianship

Anti-racism work lays the foundation for dismantling the systems of oppression, which are at work within institutions' hiring data, discrimination claim statistics, salary tables, retention numbers, and even within diversity policies, and institutions leaders' public actions against racism. The first steps in fighting racism are statements and websites with resources that provide vetted or validated evidence with realistic and sustainable goals. The ultimate goal is for institutions to embrace anti-racist actions that mitigate harms from systems that hold down BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) within libraries.
