Dear colleagues,
Rare Book School is pleased to announce the 2022–24 cohort of the Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion & Cultural Heritage at Rare Book School. The RBS-Mellon Cultural Heritage Fellowship program seeks to enhance understandings of multicultural collections among professionals, local community members, and broader publics. Fellows participate in a three-year program that includes an orientation, RBS coursework, field schools, and other activities relating to multicultural collections and trainings.
The 15 RBS-Mellon Cultural Heritage Fellows were chosen from a highly competitive field of applicants by a selection committee comprising leading cultural heritage professionals. This year's awardees include individuals working with Indigenous communities and collections, HBCU library collections, East Asian and Asian-Pacific American archives, Latinx and Black special collections, as well as community-engaged approaches to LGBTQ+ history and cultural production.
We look forward to seeing the third cohort of Cultural Heritage Fellowship participate in RBS courses this summer-and to welcoming back members of the first and second cohorts!
