    Greetings, ACRL AI Discussion Group folks!  Ginny and I are excited to share the agenda for our January group meetup, which is scheduled to occur on Friday, January 24th, from 10am - 11am EST.  We will be joined by special guest Dr. Alexia Hudson-Ward, sharing insights from her forthcoming book on social intelligence in the age of AI, and leading the group in an exploratory discussion on ethical AI and libraries.  Dr. Hudson-Ward is the Editor-In-Chief of ACRL/Choice360's "Towards Inclusive Excellence," was the Azariah Smith Root Director of Libraries at Oberlin College, and is my colleague at MIT, in her role as the Associate Director for Research, Learning, and Strategic Partnerships (as well as our AI Strategy lead!).  Meeting details and agenda follow:

    • Welcome and Introductions

    • Social Intelligence in the Age of AI, presented by Alexia Hudson-Ward, Associate Director of Research, Learning, and Strategic Partnerships at the MIT Libraries

      • Alexia will introduce the concept of social intelligence in the age of AI, and lead the group in a discussion exploring philosophical frameworks for defining and implementing social intelligence as a core component of AI adoption in libraries.

    • Breakout room discussions:

      • Embedding social intelligence in our organizations

      • Educating staff at every level on ethical AI 

      • Amplifying social intelligence beyond libraries

    • Group Report-outs and Closing Remarks
