We are an online academic library and no longer maintain relationships with GOBI for purchasing, processing, cataloging of physical books. Our provost has asked for a special physical book display in advance of internal meetings this year. The provost's office has kindly ordered the requested books for me. Most of the books were available in hardback from Amazon, and luckily, I found enough unused book jackets in storage. I am left with two books in paperback and no ideas on how to process them to preserve their condition.
Can anyone provide suggestions on the best way to prepare paperback books for display? Forgive me (eek!) but I'm thinking of contact paper and sliding a piece of cardboard inside the back cover. My assumption is that the cardboard would help the book stand straight and the contact paper would slow bending/breaking of the cover?
If you need the book dimensions, here are the two titles
