ACRL-CPIG is hosting the Spring webinar - "How Contemplative Practices Can Help Us Build More Inclusive Classrooms," led by Jasjit Sangha, PhD, Educational Developer, Anti-Racist Pedagogy at the Center for Teaching and Learning at University of Toronto Scarborough. Join us for this practical and informative session that will delve into contemplative pedagogies can be used to build inclusive classrooms.

Session description:
As bell hooks, writes, "the classroom remains the space of most radical possibility in the academy". But how do we create these transformative and inclusive learning experiences? What do we need to learn and unlearn? This session will be a personal conversation about our positionality, how identity impacts learning, and how we can create a new vision for how we want to be as educators through deeper self-understanding. In this session participants will engage in mindfulness practices, self-reflective journalling, and large group conversations. Presenter Bio:
Jasjit Sangha, PhD works as an Educational Developer, Anti-Racist Pedagogy with the Center for Teaching and Learning at University of Toronto Scarborough. She brings comprehensive experience to her work with faculty and students through her background in adult learning, student development, teaching in the post-secondary classroom, mindfulness and equity and inclusion. She has completed the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program and is a Search Inside Yourself Certified Teacher. She completed her PhD in Adult Education through the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and is passionate about creating spaces for transformative adult learning.
