Dear Colleagues,
The ACRL Chapters Council invites nominees for the positions of Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and Secretary for the July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025, term. People holding these elected positions serve as part of the Chapters Council Executive Committee. The Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect serves as Chair during their second year on the Council, and as Past Chair during their third year. The Secretary serves a one-year term and may run for re-election.
While we are soliciting nominations for both Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and Secretary, we ask that you consider nominees for Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, in particular. Current Secretary Sarah McHone-Chase has graciously agreed to run for re-election, but we still welcome additional candidates for that position. Be sure to obtain the consent of any individuals you may choose to nominate. Also, please feel free to nominate yourself! Any current member of a state or regional ACRL chapter who is in good standing is eligible to run; being a current member of a chapter's board is no longer a requirement. This is a great opportunity to become more involved in your state or region's ACRL chapter and to serve in a leadership role within ACRL.
Potential candidates or their nominators are encouraged to reach out to current Chapters Council Vice Chair/Chair-Elect Leslin H. Charles (leslin.charles@rutgers.edu) with their interest by Monday, April 15.. Please send Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect Charles a position statement, biography, and picture to be shared with the membership, no later than Wednesday, May 1. We will post the candidate information to the Chapters Council space on ALA Connect in mid-May. The election will then take place at the summer membership meeting of Chapters Council, which will occur online in June (date and time TBD).
