SustainRT is collecting tote bags at our membership meeting at ALA Annual.
Please bring your old tote bags that you no longer use (most of us probably have a few of these lying around), or your tote bag from this conference, if you are not going to use it at home, to the SustainRT membership meeting. And, if you are not going ALA Annual, you could send them with coworkers who are!
These are being donated to local charity organizations that have appealed for reusable bags, such as the San Diego State University Food Bank. This will reduce the number of plastic bags that are used at these food banks, ultimately keeping plastic out of our landfills, conserving our natural resources, and reducing pollution. This small act highlights both the environmental and economic importance of reusing items that we have, or donating them to charity where they can be reused.
