    Friends and colleagues,

Attached, you will find our revised "Resolution in Defense of the Right to Engage in Political Boycotts," initiated by the Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT). Also attached is a document "What's New in the Resolution in Defense of the Right to Engage in Political Boycotts?" which provides additional background information. We would welcome SustainRT's endorsement of this resolution.

You may recall that SRRT started working on this in 2019 when we put forward a resolution focused on the many state laws targeting support for Palestinian rights, and excluding state contractors from doing business with the states unless they signed off that they would not boycott Israel.

As you may know, there is now a growing movement of copycat state anti-boycott legislation in support of fossil fuels companies, and also gun manufacturers. This is another way that states are pushing back against the growing movement for divestment in fossil fuels and the movement for clean energy sources.

If members would like to discuss this resolution, or if you would like for us to respond to any questions or concerns, we would be happy to do that. Please just let us know.

    Many thanks for your consideration,

Al Kagan for the SRRT Action Council
