Hey all!
Starting in September 2025, small groups of library workers joined staff from the Metropolitan New York Library Council for guided hikes at our new
Library Field site in Westchester County, NY. These hike-and-talks are part of our participatory design process for the project, meant to draw o
ut input, guidance, and inspiration from our members and the wider community. We recently released a report that provides an overview of the input we received as well as an exciting peek at our next steps. I encourage anyone interested to
give the report a read, or
join us for an upcoming webinar on January 29th from 1-2pm ET.
During the session, METRO Executive Director Nate Hill will share some of the ideas that we received about how various communities might work together in the unique Library Field environment. How have visitors envisioned how we can all use the Library Field in the future? What are some immediate possibilities, and what are some long-term visions? Join this event to learn more, and to help us continue this work!
About the project
The Library Field is an open-air laboratory where METRO's member libraries and archives will collaborate and develop new public programming concepts that center ecosystemic and sustainable design principles. Learn more about METRO here.
Thanks!
