I recently spoke with Claire McGuire (IFLA policy /advocate group,)  whom I met through IFLA  ENSULIB at the  conference last august in Rotterdam  – it's a survey that MECCE and IFLA are doing collaboratively.   (Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project)

This initiative's goal is help to collect information about how libraries contribute to climate education and communication, which are elements of Action for Climate Empowerment or ACE. (ACE is embraced much more globally than in the states!)  The data collected so far is now in MECCE and indicators used can we seen through their online mapping program (still in the early stages).  Link below.

Claire  said the  biggest need is DATA!   She needs libraries and ESPECIALLY library associations to fill this out to share more data.  Can you ALL PLEASE fill out the survey (below) and also REACH OUT to others you know locally to ask especially your STATE library associations/groups.      I know you all  care about these issues and so we all need to share in order to create a  representational view of global library impact on climate communication and education. This can be a powerful tool to both get more institutional support for libraries to integrate climate empowerment in their activities and plans (rather than relying on only the interest and extra effort of dedicated staff) as well as communicating to policy makers at all levels about the impact of libraries on development.

For the MECCE platform, you can find it here: https://mecce.ca/data-platform/indicators/  It's quite complex, but the simplest way to start exploring is:
    1. click "indicator view"
    2. Find the menu under "select a different indicator"
    3. Under "public access to information" you will find the option for libraries

    The surveys are here:
