(Please pardon much cross-posting.)
SustainRT invites ALA members who are interested in sustainability and participate in committees, sections, or other ALA groups, to apply to serve as a Sustainability Ambassador. ALA adopted sustainability as a core value, using this definition:
Sustainability means making choices that are good for the environment, make sense economically, and treat everyone equitably.
Many ALA groups are likely engaged or interested in sustainability. SustainRT Ambassadors will help identify collaboration opportunities, share events and news with their groups, convey questions to SustainRT, and strengthen ALA's sustainability commitment.
SustainRT Ambassadors:
-
receive a monthly (or so) update about initiatives, trainings, webinars, and innovations -- see photo for preview of first issue!
-
share this information with your fellow members in meetings, emails, social media, and any other ways
-
raise sustainability, as described above, as a factor when your group plans plans programming, communications, activities, and other initiatives
-
using a short online form, update the committee about your group's efforts or activities that we could co-sponsor, collaborate, or otherwise help facilitate
SustainRT Ambassadors can step down any time.
