Hi Betsy,
I wish I could go. That conference looks amazing. The MBA I am working on has an emphasis on sustainability. A few of my professors recommended the conference, but between the two ALA conferences, and my state conference, it is hard to get away for any more. If the AASHE conference comes closer to Florida, I might be able to attend a day or two in the future.
Your poster sounds great though. I hope you have a wonderful experience.

Subject: Academic librarians headed to AASHE?
Any academic librarians headed to the AAHSE (Association for Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Ed) conference in Spokane at the end of the month?
I am presenting a poster under the title "Using Sustainability Principles to Impact Library Education: Information Literacy, Resources, and Services."
My experience with AASHE has indicated very low participation from librarians, so one of my main goals in submitting a proposal this year was to see more librarians in the conference program. I attended the conference in San Antonio two years ago and had many wonderful conversations with faculty and staff from various institutions who had not considered what a vital role libraries and librarians might play in promoting principles of sustainability in higher education.
More than anything, I'd like to cite the other librarians who are doing work in this area and use the poster as a catalyst for conversation so that more faculty and staff return to their own institutions to seek out what their libraries are working on in these areas. If you're doing something great, I'd love to be your cheerleader. Please email me at betsy.evans@sulross.edu.
Thanks!
Betsy
