  • 1.  Purchasing Laptops for Workshop Use?

    I had a question to other libraries who are using part of their PLA Digital Literacy Workshop funds to purchase laptops as either incentives for participation, or laptops for participants to use in order to hold the workshops in their library.  While I originally envisioned us just using some of our public computers for our workshop courses, I have since realized it might be better to have a laptop lab in our larger Community Room, where the instructor can project his own screen up on a large TV for ease of viewing, in a theater/classroom style seating setup.  I'm wondering where to purchase 3-5 laptops for a reasonable price to use for these workshops, with a fairly quick turnaround time so we could start our courses towards the end of October or early November.

    Hello Alicia,

    We'll be purchasing seven chromebooks with ours, currently I'm waiting to hear back from someone from our library system, but it looks like we'll be using the Dell Discount acquired through TechSoup.
