    Hi,

I'm learning the threads here and trying to get my message out here, as time is of the essence.  Thanks for your patience (as I posted earlier a question here similar to this one!)

Our needs are different for our workshop.  We need to start VERY basic, to teach them English first--basic beginning English--as many in our rural community do not know how to speak basic English. The majority are hispanics that we are teaching.   Then we will try to get them into the digital portion later in the classes. What we are looking for is a basic curriculum to help begin to teach them.  Any recommendations at all?  I then saw in the Training slides the direction we can go digitally.

    Thanks in advance, Joan

    Hi Joan
I have a couple ideas for you and I'm sure other folks will have more thoughts too!

    - Have you considered offering your digital literacy classes in Spanish? Hiring a facilitator who is fluent in Spanish? All our new workshops are available in Spanish.

    - For ESL classes here are some options I have heard good things about but I do not have personal experience with:
    • Learning Express Library – Has courses to improve reading, writing, speaking, and grammar
    • GCFLearnFree.org – Provides FREE online learning for English & reading, and much more
    • Colorín Colorado – A bilingual site for educators and families of English Language Learners
    • Mango App
    • Pronunciator App

Thank you MC, we do already have our facilitators and they're both English speaking and one a previous teacher.  Those links you listed were helpful and we'll keep digging for more.  Thank you again. Joan
