I'm wanting to create an online registration form for a  specific workshop that we're doing.  I'm not quite sure how to go about it, and would love to hear about how folks have done them.  Do you normally host them on your own site?  Do you use some other platform?  Is it possible to automate it in such a way that if I limit the registration to 12 people that anyone else who signs up gets added to a waitlist?

Yes you can create forms in Google tools.   We put a link in our online calendar and you can also create a CRQ as well.  Create a form using forms...if you would like to take a look at mine here is the link....don't register for the class

Thanks, Patricia!  Google forms were one of the solutions I was thinking about.  Do you know if there's a way to automate them?

    Hi Erik,

We've been using EngagedPatrons (https://engagedpatrons.org/) for our registration. It's a bit clunky, but it does what we need it to most of the time. Specifically, it does allow you to limit registration and then automatically waitlists additional folks, which is super helpful.  And, it's free to qualifying public libraries (those receiving less than $1 million dollars per year in total income). Larger libraries pay an annual fee; selected services are free to all.

    Good luck!

I highly recommend JotForms, we use it for everything. It is inexpensive, secure, and easy to use. They have a discount for non-profits, and offer a limited free option for smaller libraries.  https://www.jotform.com
