Thank you to everyone who attended our virtual interest group week program. We had a great turn-out and it also generated a lot of discussion surrounding the management of Open Access electronic resources. If you were not able to attend, you can read more about the presentations as well as get a

Interest Group Page. The Electronic Resources program was Tuesday, March 8th at 10 a.m.
We would like to continue the discussion surrounding the topic here. Many of the main questions and points of discussion surrounded discovery and stability of open access resources. Selecting collections or titles for discovery, managing broken links, and updating open access resources that change frequently are all time consuming tasks. There is also the aspect of collaborating with other librarians such as metadata and collections units to determine the quality of the records as well as making decisions on what should be discoverable in the collections.
How are other libraries managing access, discovery, and troubleshooting of open access resources? What has worked and what has not worked? Would you like to see more discussion on this topic either through the discussion board, working groups, or an eforum?
