    Hi everyone,

    If you're interested in representing MAGIRT as a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Assembly, let me know.

    Here is the EDI's mission:

    The purpose of this EDI Assembly is to provide a forum for all groups within ALA and ALA-affiliated organizations working on initiatives related to equity, diversity, and inclusion to discuss their activities, identify opportunities for collaboration and coordination, and explore new initiatives related to the association's strategic direction for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

    And the responsibilities:

    The EDI Assembly meets four times a year (the first time is in October), and the following are the responsibilities of liaisons:

    • Fill out the updates survey before each EDI Assembly meeting to share updates from your group
    • Report back to your group about relevant information and collaboration opportunities from the EDI Assembly (e.g., when the EDI Assembly chair asks liaisons to share out the recording from a meeting, or when another group asks for collaboration)
    • Post about your group's opportunities for collaboration on the EDI Assembly group on ALA Connect
    • Bring in the perspective of your group to EDI Assembly discussions (one question we frequently ask is: "What is ALA already doing about X issue?")
