Hi there,
This is my first time posting on the MAGIRT discussion board, but I've been a member for about a year -- howdy y'all, nice to meet you.
I am part of a group working on a revision of, and further developing, the BibFrame Art and Rare Materials extension ontology (a joint effort between RBMS and SAA). I am a rare materials cataloger and an amateur map cataloger and have provided some suggestions to be inclusive of cartographic description and access for the ontology, but was hoping some more experienced cartographic catalogers with an interest in linked data might be willing to take a look at what we have so far and potentially provide some further expertise and guidance on the description of and access to cartographic materials, particularly with an emphasis on the rare and unique. This can mean pre-1900, or any other unique cartographic resource worthy of specialized description.
Please reach out to me here or at kazmin@usf.edu for more information about the work, the ontology extension, or just to say hello and connect a little. Thanks very much for your attention.
Many thanks,
Natalie
