This is an exciting opportunity to recognize and nominate an outstanding library advocate who exemplifies creative leadership of high order. Please help spread the word!

The application is now open to nominate an individual who shows leadership in library management, library training, cataloging and classification, and librarianship techniques.

The ALA Medal of Excellence is a prestigious annual award, symbolized by a bronze medal and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement. It recognizes recent creative leadership of high order, particularly in library management, library training, cataloging and classification, and the tools and techniques of librarianship.

In a significant move in 2020, the award was renamed from the Melvil Dewey Medal to the more inclusive and representative ALA Medal of Excellence.

The deadline for this prestigious award is fast approaching on March 1, 2025. We encourage you to fill out the online application at your earliest convenience.

For more information, please get in touch with Marsha Burgess at Awards@ALA.org or Sara Dallas at saraedallas@gmail.com.
