Updates from the ALA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Assembly

On Tuesday, March 14th, the ALA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDIAssembly had its third meeting of the year. During this meeting, we heard about the Equitable Immigration Subject Heading Cooperative's "Libraries: Drop the I Word!" campaign, discussed updates from affiliated groups, and had a panel of speakers to discuss ALA's work on the intersection of Intellectual Freedom and Social Justice.

We are pleased to share the recording (note: the opener was not recorded) and the agenda for the Assembly. If you are interested in participating in future discussion on the intersection of intellectual freedom and social justice, you can fill out the interest form.

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Assembly is open to all ALA members who are interested in helping ALA move towards greater equity, diversity, and inclusion. If you are interested in joining the EDI Assembly for 2023-2024, you can sign up through the ALA Volunteer Form. Choose ALA from the drop-down menu. You will have the option to choose from different committees; select EDI Assembly.
