The mission of the Library Research Round Table (LRRT) is to contribute toward the extension and improvement of library research; to provide public program opportunities for describing and evaluating library research projects and for disseminating their findings; to inform and educate ALA members concerning research techniques and their usefulness in obtaining information with which to reach administrative decisions and solve problems; and expand the theoretical base of the field. LRRT also, serves as a forum for discussion and action on issues related to the literature and information needs for the field of library and information science.

    The Joseph W. Lippincott Award is accepting nominations!

    Do you know of a librarian for distinguished service to the profession of librarianship, such service to include outstanding participation in the activities of the professional library association, notable published professional writing, or other significant activity on behalf of the profession and its aims? If so, please nominate them for the Joseph W. Lippincott Award!

    The Joseph W. Lippincott Award is sponsored by Jay Lippincott. The winner receives a $1,500 and a framed citation of achievement that is given at the ALA Awards Ceremony at the 2026 ALA's Annual Conference, in Chicago, IL.

    To nominate please complete the online application. The nominations must be accompanied by a specific statement of qualifications of the nominee. Supporting evidence or testimonials are welcome.

    Deadline: March 1, 2026
