The ALA Library Research Round Table (LRRT) is accepting submissions for the LRRT Research Forum at the 2024 ALA Annual Conference in San Diego, CA (June 27-July 2, 2024).

The Research Forum will feature three peer-reviewed research works with the potential to make significant contributions to the field of LIS. The submissions will be selected as examples of research excellence, with a focus on work exemplifying a strong use of theory, a clear and well-organized research design, and appropriate data collection and analysis methods. All topics related to LIS will be considered. All researchers, including practitioners from all types of libraries and other organizations, LIS faculty, graduate students, and other interested individuals are encouraged to submit proposals. Both members and non-members of LRRT are welcome.

The selection committee will use a double-blind review process to select three entries. Authors will be required to present their work in person at the forum and to register for the conference.

    Criteria for selection

    • Originality of the methodology (for empirical research)/research approach (for conceptual work)
    • Strong contextualization within the extant body of LIS and/or interdisciplinary literature
    • Quality of writing

Please note that research published or accepted for publication elsewhere by March 8, 2024, cannot be considered.
