The mission of the Library Research Round Table (LRRT) is to contribute toward the extension and improvement of library research; to provide public program opportunities for describing and evaluating library research projects and for disseminating their findings; to inform and educate ALA members concerning research techniques and their usefulness in obtaining information with which to reach administrative decisions and solve problems; and expand the theoretical base of the field. LRRT also, serves as a forum for discussion and action on issues related to the literature and information needs for the field of library and information science.

    Inviting everyone to attend the ALA Virtual Volunteer Fair tomorrow, Wednesday, September 14, 2022: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm CT.
    Be sure to     register for the event!

    The event will be an informal drop-in format to breakout rooms via Zoom for members to learn more about the various volunteer opportunities within ALA - including various ALA Divisions, Round Tables, and Committees. Attendees will be able to move between the different breakout rooms to learn about volunteer opportunities during the two-hour Volunteer Fair.

    Once you register, you should receive reminder emails with Zoom information and breakout room listings. The LRRT breakout room time slot is scheduled for 3-3:30 (CT). 

    Please register today and drop by the LRRT breakout room tomorrow to chat about volunteer opportunities.  See the attached flyer with more information about LRRT committees, initiatives, and members of the LRRT steering committee.

    Hi LRRT colleagues,

    Please consider volunteering to serve on one of the LRRT Committees in 2023-24! 

    Please submit volunteer applications by this Friday, September 30, 2022, to be considered for ALA Association & Council Committee appointments for terms beginning July 2023.  You can read more details here and access the volunteer form here (ALA member login required).

    Learn more about the LRRT Committees on the LRRT website - and look at specifics for each of these committees on the Governance page of the website. Here is a list of the LRRT committees for your review.
