The mission of the Library Research Round Table (LRRT) is to contribute toward the extension and improvement of library research; to provide public program opportunities for describing and evaluating library research projects and for disseminating their findings; to inform and educate ALA members concerning research techniques and their usefulness in obtaining information with which to reach administrative decisions and solve problems; and expand the theoretical base of the field. LRRT also, serves as a forum for discussion and action on issues related to the literature and information needs for the field of library and information science.

2/2 Call for ALA 2026 Panelists - AI Beyond the Hype: Showcasing How Library Professionals Use Generative AI

    Hi everyone,

We have all heard the predictions about how generative artificial intelligence (AI) will change how we do our work. But, as your RUSA ETS Programming committee, we know now it's time to have a real discussion about how it's going. Whether you are implementing an AI search tool for your library catalog, using AI to write the code to build the app you always wanted, having students create AI generated art to express themselves, or otherwise using generative AI to solve a problem facing your patrons, we want to hear how YOU have been experimenting with and using generative AI in libraries. Let us know if you would like to be part of our panel during the 2026 ALA Annual Conference by answering our Call for Panelists by February 2nd at 12 pm EST. Thank you for considering this and we hope to see you this summer at ALA!
