The mission of the Library Research Round Table (LRRT) is to contribute toward the extension and improvement of library research; to provide public program opportunities for describing and evaluating library research projects and for disseminating their findings; to inform and educate ALA members concerning research techniques and their usefulness in obtaining information with which to reach administrative decisions and solve problems; and expand the theoretical base of the field. LRRT also, serves as a forum for discussion and action on issues related to the literature and information needs for the field of library and information science.

  • 1.  Survey of Round Table Members

    Posted Oct 30, 2020 12:17 PM

Dear Members of all ALA Round Tables,

ALA's Steering Committee on Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE) has provided recommendations that all round tables have the same membership categories, charge the same membership dues, and in other ways standardize certain aspects of governance. The Round Table Coordinating Assembly (RTCA)'s Bylaws Working Group is trying to assess the potential impacts of implementation on round tables and round table members.

We invite you to complete the following survey, which has nine questions and should take about ten minutes to complete: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSekqWCbMQPZ3EJd9JsJ2WElc0IJsyIAZiPC_36PytJw_B1qtQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Please respond by Monday, November 9.

Thank you for your time and insights!

Mark, on behalf of the Bylaws Task Force

As your Roundtable Councilor, I just want to highlight how important this survey is.

The last question, about what you would do if this roundtable were disbanded, is particularly important to the decision making processes going on in council right now. If any of you need more of an explanation of it, SCOE, or related topics, please feel free to reach out to me.

    Best,

    Jennifer
