LOEX 2026: Call for Breakout Session Proposals
Oceans of Knowledge: Diving into Information Literacy
54th Annual LOEX Conference
May 7-9, 2026
Norfolk, Virginia
How do we teach, lead, and collaborate in an ever-changing sea of information? Explore this question and more at LOEX 2026 in Norfolk, VA-where rivers meet the Chesapeake Bay and a thriving waterfront culture reflects centuries of maritime tradition. Known as the "City of Mermaids," Norfolk offers a fittingly whimsical and symbolic setting for Oceans of Knowledge: Diving into Information Literacy, inviting teaching librarians to plunge into the depths of pedagogy, innovation, leadership, and collaboration. We welcome you to join a vibrant community of educators navigating new currents in information literacy instruction.
This year's LOEX proposal tracks are:
- Pearls of Pedagogy: Teaching Techniques that Work
- Techtonic Shifts: Innovation and Educational Technology
- Captain's Log: Navigating Leadership in Library Instruction
- The Depth Gauge: Measuring Instructional Impact
- Swimming Together: Collaborating with Others
- The Bermuda Triangle: Exploring (Seemingly) Eternal Challenges
- Uncharted Waters: Proposals that Defy Categorization
Proposals for 50-minute long presentations and interactive workshops can be submitted only through the online submission form and must be received by Monday, December 1, 2025.
