Greetings!
ALA Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) is seeking panelists for the LIRT President's Program at the ALA Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA (June 26-30, 2025)
Program Title: Collaboration in Instruction with Other Types of Libraries
Description: Libraries of all types are facing increasing demands on their resources and requests to handle areas that may be outside their staff's area of expertise, all while also being asked to "do more with less." One solution to tackling this issue is by collaborating with other types of libraries (e.g., High School and Academic; Public and School; Medical Library and Archive). These types of collaborations provide librarians access to skills, techniques, resources, spaces, and experience they might not already have. In this session, participants will learn how librarians from school, public, special, or academic libraries are collaborating with each other to make sure their target populations are being effectively reached and served.
Traditionally, this session is a panel* that includes three presentations from librarians representing school, public, special, or academic libraries. Each presentation should last approximately 15 minutes. Then, there will be additional time for a short Q&A afterwards.
*Although this program seeks to highlight collaborative endeavors, it is up to the proposal submitters to decide if just one person will represent their group at the conference or if two or three people will present the session.
Deadline is Friday, December 13th.
