The mission of the Library History Round Table (LHRT) is to encourage research and publication on library history and promote awareness and discussion of historical issues in librarianship.

Attached is a resolution that will be discussed at LHRT's 2014 Executive Committee meeting. ALA currently offers Council representation to round tables whose membership is equivalent to 1% of ALA's entire membership (i.e., about 570 members). Library History Round Table and 10 other "small round tables" with fewer than 1% of ALA's membership are currently represented by a single ALA councilor. In some members' eyes, this is unfair. Through submitting the attached resolution, LHRT seeks to obtain a councilor for each of the 11 small round tables.
