This week is National Library Week in the United States, and at the blog we would like to announce a new feature to salute libraries in the United States and around the world. In building up to National Library Week over the past couple of months, we've sent out calls asking for "donations" of "virtual artifacts" to display on the blog. Many thanks to those who have responded and contributed pictures!
The Virtual Librariana Museum is an exhibit of these curated photos of library artifacts submitted by volunteers in various libraries. Currently, artifacts from libraries in China, Canada, and the United States are represented.
Please access the Museum at: https://lhrt.news/lhrt-virtual-librariana-museum/
Nearly all libraries have a closet or basement filled with tools and documents of their past! Please consider helping to expand the exhibit by sending pictures of these artifacts along with captions detailing, if possible, the name of the item, the approximate age, library where the item was found, and any other relevant or interesting facts to lhrtnewsandnotes@gmail.com. Nearly any file format for the pictures (JPEG, PNG, PDF) will work. Thank you for helping us virtually preserve treasures of library history!
Best Wishes,
Brett
