    Dear ALA members,

In honor of the Sesquicentennial next year (150th Anniversary of ALA), the Library History Round Table is hosting Librarians We Have Lost, Sesquicentennial Memories -1976-2026.  Dr. Kathleen de la Peña McCook, Distinguished University Professor, School of Information, University of South Florida, began this collage of brief tributes to library workers as a series of posts on ALA Connect in fall 2024 in building towards the Sesquicentennial. In an initiative led by Dr. Anita Coleman, the ALA Council recently passed a resolution encouraging members, divisions, and affiliates to contribute to this effort.

LHRT News & Notes, the Library History Round Table's official blog, is now preserving these memories through a digital memorial archive at:

    https://lhrt.news/librarians-we-have-lost-sesquicentennial-memories-1976-2026/

Please consider submitting a tribute about a library worker who passed away between 1976-2026 and made a difference to you! We offer this form you can use to submit:

    https://lhrt.news/librarians-we-have-lost-sesquicentennial-memories-1976-2026-2/

Accepted submissions will be posted to ALA Connect and LHRT News & NotesSample tributes are available on the digital memorial archive.  Please reach out to Dr. McCook at kmccook@usf.edu or Brett Spencer at dbs21@psu.edu with any questions or suggestions.

    Best Wishes,

    Brett
