    1981 John Sessions Award
Arthur S. Meyers was Director of the Muncie, Indiana Public Library when the library received the first John Sessions Memorial Award in 1981. It is a RUSA Award.
The  Award recognizes a library or library system which has made a significant effort to work with the labor community and by doing so has brought recognition to the history and contribution of the labor movement to the development of the United States. Meyers wrote two articles of interest to librarians serving labor.
