    There are a number of things members can do to get involved.

    • First, of course, they can attend LHRT events offered at ALA meetings. They can also submit a proposal for a presentation at LHRT events. I don't know yet what will be on the program for the June 2012 meeting, but we should be getting this information soon.
    • Members can contribute to the LHRT Newsletter. For information contact the editor, Bernadette Lear (BAL19@psu.edu)
    • Members can also volunteer for a number of positions. The easiest and lightest ones are those of liaison to other organizations. Right now there are no liaisons to the following: American Assn. for State and Local History (AASLH), American Society for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T), International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). And positions on LHRT committees regulalry open up.
    • Members can nominate an article or work for any of the LHRT awards....
