The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

FY 2027 IFRT Budget Draft KP

I've attached a proposed budget. 

  1. Betsy sent me the actuals for 2025 so I've added those to column F.
  2. I created a "2027 Budget Proposed" column I.
  3. I input budget numbers mostly the same as last year.
  4. Regarding Revenue: In 2025 there were $16,500 in donations!! I did not budget for donations of that amount in 2027. But rather a meager increase in dues and donations.
  5. Regarding Expenses: Similar as 2026, except I reduced Meal Functions down to $3000, increased Honorarium, AV, and Program Allocation. If there's no plan for any meal function at ALA Annual Conference 2027, we could reduce that budget line to zero and allocate the money for programs and speakers during the whole year. 
  6. The proposed 2027 budget is balanced with net revenue of $700.
