The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    WELCOME! On behalf of the IFRT Nominating Committee, we are calling for volunteers to run for Chair and Secretary of the IFRT for 2026-2027

    The term of office for the chair is 3 years. You will serve as Chair elect for one year preceding your year as Chair. You will serve as Chair from the end of the 2026 Annual Meeting to the end of the following Annual Meeting, and past-chair for one year following your appointment. Chairs are eligible for re-election after a minimum interval of one year out of the office of chair. The term of office for the secretary is two years.  

    Terms begin at the end of an Annual Meeting and continue through the end of the second subsequent Annual Meeting.
