    Hello IFRT!

Kate Berry is on leave, and I am filling in as Secretary for the next two months. I am here to announce the next meeting of the IFRT Executive Committee, one week from today, January 13, at 4:00pm Central ("ALA Time"). Please send me your agenda items, and I will distribute an agenda before the meeting. Any board member reports that are sent to me or posted to Connect by Monday, 1/12, will be included in the agenda. A copy of the template is attached.

IFRT Executive Committee Meetings include the officers, directors-at-large, and committee chairs of the Intellectual Freedom Round Table. They provide oversight of round table business, discuss and plan events and initiatives, and vote on formal decisions.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Here is the registration link.

    Thanks,

    Rebecca

    Here's my report!

    Happy New Year!

Below are my reports for Publications & Communications and the Gerald Hodges / Coalition Building Committee:

    Publications & Communications
We continue to post regularly across our platforms. In the coming weeks, we will be highlighting the Gerald Hodges Intellectual Freedom Chapter Relations Award, as the application deadline is approaching. We have also been actively sharing information about the Merritt Fund recently to increase awareness and engagement.

Coalition Building Committee (Gerald Hodges Award)
Applications are now open for the Gerald Hodges Intellectual Freedom Chapter Relations Award. The submission deadline is February 1, 2026, which is just a few weeks away. Outreach and promotion efforts are currently underway to encourage nominations.
