The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    "Unshelving Voices: Empowering Libraries Against Censorship"

    Two-Day Symposium on Library Censorship

    Mexico City – 6 to 7 August 2024

    The IFLA LGBTQ+ Special Interest Group, the Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE), and the School Library Section, and the Management of Library Associations (MLAS) in collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Mexico are pleased to announce the upcoming international symposium on censorship and libraries. The symposium is also held as part of a week of IFLA groups meeting in Mexico City from 5 to 9 August 2024 sponsored by the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
