The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    Proposed Revisions to Interpretations of the Library Bill of Rights
     
    As previously shared last fall, the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee (IFC) has been reviewing
    and updating ALA's intellectual policies, including the Interpretations of the Library Bill of Rights in
    anticipation of a new edition (11th) of the Intellectual Freedom Manual.
     
    Working groups have revievwed and revised a number of interpretations, and the IFC is asking for
    your feedback on the following four proposed drafts. The IFC greatly appreciates the contribution
    of time and thought that you and your members will bring to this important process. Below, you will

    The IFC plans to present these Interpretations to ALA Councl tor adop o2s The
    Committee will rely on your feedback in preparing the final drafts for submission to ALA Council for
    final approval. The IFC anticipates routing additional revised Interpretations, in batches, to ALA
    members over the next several months.
